Two Vancouver artists, Patricia Baun and Michael Staniszkis, join forces to create this dynamic hand-painted canvas rug.
While painted rugs are rooted in tradition, Patricia Baun breathes new life into the craft with inspiring colour and crisp clean design. For caaw, Patricia collaborated with artist/designer Michael Staniszkis. caaw uses the bold contrast of two colours, red and black, to create this striking image of a flock of crows. Black silhouetted figures, standing alone, together and in flight, are set against a deep red background, creating an asymmetrical composition, each bird expressive in emotion, action and meaning.
